The Environmental Cycle
BIOGreen plates and cups, once set aside after a meal, will break down by at least 70 percent in six months under ordinary outdoorconditions.
In Singapore, the waste materials often go to a landfill or an incinerator. Both methods produce residues that can either become benign ash which can be returned to the soil or, if covering a landfill, transform into nutrient-rich compost.
Each batch is screened for six heavy metals and flame retardants, so every consignment meets the RoHS 2011/65/EU limits for lead, mercury, cadmium, hexavalent chromium, PBBs and PBDEs.
The products bear the Singapore Green Label and, across FDA, ISO and SGS protocols, are routinely classified as safe for direct food contact.
