What are FSC Certified Products: What Does it Mean, Why is it Important, and Why You Should Care

At BIOGreen, we are pleased to offer FSC certified products and packaging. And if you don’t know about FSC, we’ll break it down for you. FSC stands for the Forest Stewardship Council – an independent not for profit organization established in 1993 to promote responsible forestry. It is the only forestry certification scheme supported by major environmental charities including WWF, the Woodland Trust and Greenpeace.

What is an FSC product?

The idea is simple: It’s a product or packaging that includes materials like wood, paper or other forest-based products that come from FSC-certified forests. What does that mean? It is Uniform controlled and FSC certified that the product is coming from responsibly managed forests.

We are also committed to sustainability and ethical sourcing. That’s the Cancerian in us, which is why, whenever we can, we work with FSC-certified materials.
